My Personal Growth in BCVS: From 1st Sem to Now ~
When I joined the CSBS department at KIT, I
thought I would only be busy with coding and computers. I saw Business
Communication and Value Science (BCVS) in my timetable and thought it would
be just a boring theory subject. But now, after two semesters, I can say that
this subject taught me things that coding cannot.
In the 1st
Semester, the real challenge started. I remember our first lab activity
where I had to give an Idol Poster Presentation. I made a poster of MS Dhoni because
he is my biggest inspiration for being calm and a great leader. Even though I
love talking about Dhoni, standing in front of the whole class was very scary
for me. My legs were shaking, and I almost forgot what to say. After that, we
had more Speeches in class. Just like my friend Anuj wrote in his blog,
I also had a lot of stage fear in the beginning. But doing it again and again
helped me feel a little more confident
Now in the 2nd
Semester, we moved to more professional things like Group Discussions
and Mock Interviews. In the GDs, I learned that it is not about who
speaks the loudest, but about how you share your ideas and listen to others.
This semester, we also had an NGO visit to meet the families of
soldiers. I really wanted to go, but because of some personal reasons, I could
not join the trip. When my friends came back and told me about their
experience, I felt very bad for missing it. It made me realize that "Value
Science" is about having a heart and understanding our responsibility
toward society.
CONCLUSION ~
Looking back, the biggest change in me is
how I talk to people. Before BCVS, I didn't know how to talk differently to a
teacher or a friend. Now, I feel I have a better personality and less fear of
the stage. Communication is not just about English; it is about having the
confidence to be yourself.
